that's the reality.

is it too much to ask

for a companion

sitting together by the beach

clasping hands

watching the sun setting down

over the sea?

hope

were dashed that day

dreamings

i was rudely awakened from it.

now

i will be a pretender

a great pretender

embrace me while you can

hold me if you can

that is all you could anyway

i will be for myself

whether i will be by myself

or not
